Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong happens to be not only one of the premier educational institutions of Shillong in particular but also of the North-East in general. From its cradle to maturity, the school has grown in strength and today proudly stands as a Higher Secondary School affiliated to the Meghalaya Board of School Education.

Today, standing tall, the school can boast of one of the most well-equipped libraries of the city which caters not only to the needs of the students but also to the society at large.

Keeping pace with modern-day science and technology, the school authorities are aware of the need for Computer Literacy among the students. Hence, the school, being the perfect balance of tradition and modernity, has a well-equipped Computer Laboratory with a dedicated team of experts, ever-ready to help the students in their stride towards the future.

Aims and Objectives of the School

Admission Procedure

Application for admission on prescribed forms will be accepted immediately after the announcement of the Annual Examination Result and Board Examination Result. Each application must be accompanied by:

  1. An attested copy of the mark sheet of the last examination.
  2. A Xerox copy of both sides of the Immunization Card received from the hospital where the child was born.
  3. A Xerox copy of the child’s AADHAAR card.
  4. Two passport-size photographs of the student.
  5. Copy of Birth Certificate.
  6. Original Transfer Certificate must be submitted while taking admission.

Attendance

Attendance of a student must not be below 75% during a session. The school authority reserves the right to delete the names of students from the administration register if found irregular.

Fees

Fees will be charged for 12 months for the Secondary and Higher Secondary Courses. Admission fees, Tuition Fees, Session fees, and Library caution money (non-refundable) are to be paid at the time of admission.

The monthly tuition fees are to be paid on or before the 7th of each month or any other date prescribed by the school authorities. If the fees are paid after the 15th of a particular month, then a penalty of Rs. 10.00 will be charged in that month and Rs. 20.00 will be charged on each of the subsequent months.

B. Payment Schedule for the Higher Secondary Section

  1. 1st Installment: Rs. 8450.00 – To be paid at the time of admission.
  2. 2nd Installment: Rs. 5000.00 – To be paid before 15th July.
  3. 3rd Installment:
    • For Science and Commerce Streams:
      • With Computer: Rs. 5000.00
      • Without Computer: Rs. 2000.00
    • For Arts Stream: Rs. 5000.00 for every student
    To be paid before 15th September.

C. Payment Schedule for the Secondary Section

  1. 1st Installment: Rs. 4250.00 – To be paid at the time of admission (for existing students, latest by 15th February after reopening of school).
  2. 2nd Installment: Rs. 1500.00 – To be paid before 15th July.
  3. 3rd Installment: Rs. 1500.00 – To be paid before 15th September.

Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School has a long-standing reputation, where performance in Science and Science-related competitions are concerned. Many a time, countless numbers of boys have made the school proud by winning prizes at different Science-related competitions both at the State and National level.

To keep pace with the zeal of the teachers, and also to cater to the needs of the Higher Secondary students, the school possesses some of the best laboratories in all the four branches of basic science, namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer.
